RACE TO DUBAI LEADER STENSON CONFIRMED

Been in magnificent form with a remarkable run in the last three months also becoming the first European to win the FedEx Cup on the US PGA Tour, Swedish Henrik Stenson current leader of The Race to Dubai has confirmed his participation in the Turkish Airlines Open.

The penultimate event of the 2013 European Tour season which will take place at the Montgomerie Maxx Royal, Belek, Antalya, from November 7-10 will bring the giant golfers together. The current leader of The Race to Dubai, Henrik Stenson of Sweden has also confirmed his participation in the inaugural US$7 million Turkish Airlines Open. The tournament will also feature World No. 1 Tiger Woods and forms a central part of the Final Series, the new four-tournament conclusion to The Race to Dubai, which comprises the US$7 million BMW Masters, the US$ 8.5million WGC-HSBC Champions and the US$ 8 million DP World Tour Championship, Dubai offering a combined prize fund of US$ 30.5 million.

PERFECT SUMMER PERFORMANCE

Highly experienced 37 year old Henrik Stenson, has been in magnificent form, becoming the first European to win the FedEx Cup on the US PGA Tour last month, and will tee it up in the 78-man tournament, in Montgomerie Maxx Royal Belek. “It has been a great few months for me but there is still plenty to play for” said Stenson. “I am in a good position to win the European money list. A strong performance in Turkey would certainly help me achieve that.” Stenson is currently a career-high of fourth in the Official World Golf Ranking. In addition to his victory at the Tour Championship, the seven-time European Tour winner triumphed at the Deutsche Bank Championship, finished second and third at The Open Championship and US PGA Championship respectively.
