Major Event in Turkey

MAJOR EVENT IN TURKEY

Two of the top golfers in the world, Englishman Lee Westwood and Spanish Sergio Garcia met the media at a press conference held before the Turkish Airlines Open that will take place with contributions by the Ministry of Youth and Sports at Montgomerie Maxx Royal’s course on 13-16 November. The Turkish Airlines Open is considered a critically important tournament, one of the last meeting points before the European Tour’s Final Series Race to Dubai. Lee Westwood met the press at Maxx Royal Belek Golf Resort and said “I’m delighted to be back here for the second time, and in Belek for the third time. It’s great for Turkey to have an event in the Final Series and they did a great job last year, so we are all looking forward to it,” stated Lee Westwood, who is playing in the Turkish Airlines Open for the second time, and continued: “I’m in a good form. It is fantastic that the Turkish Airlines Open features so many of the European Tour’s leading players - and, as the big event on the Race to Dubai, there is a lot to play for.”

GARCIA: I’M EXCITED ABOUT THE COURSE

Ranked top 4th in the world, Sergio Garcia said that he had heard about Belek and Montgomerie Maxx Royal before he arrived. “I’ve heard a lot of good comments from the past year. This made it easier for me to come. I’m excited about the course and I hope we will enjoy it. Yesterday we visited the Aspendos Amphitheatre and it was a special day,” smiled Garcia. He also pointed out that he was going to do his best to get a high-ranking score in the Race to Dubai
