Minister of Youth and Sports of Turkey Akif Çağatay Kılıç and the President of the Turkish Golf Federation Ahmet Ağaoğlu led a press conference together at Montgomerie Maxx Royal on the first morning of the Turkish Airlines Open 2014, the critical meeting point of the European Tour Final Series. Minister Akif Çağatay Kılıç expressed that having high-scaled championship golf courses like Montgomerie Maxx Royal facilitated the organisation of major tournaments in Turkey. Turkey is also a candidate to host the Ryder Cup 2022.
