Trophy to Taurus
The Turkish Airlines Open Pro-Am Presented by Avea Golf Tournament held on 12th November at Montgomerie Maxx Royal Golf Course in Belek, Antalya, turned out to be a greatly enjoyable event with the participation of famous names and top footballers. 26 teams of one professional and three amateurs challenged one another to take first place. Team Taurus comprising Jonas Blixt (pro), Recep Turan, Ahmet Çagil and Emre Bahtoğlu finished the tournament with victory, scoring a total of -23. Second place went to Team ET headed by Darren Clarke (pro), Andrew Smith, Jon Nı’man and Liam Swann with a score of -22. Team THY 9 comprising Mikko Ilonen (pro), Fikret Öztürk, Sabri Yiğit and Igor Alhimovich stepped up to third place with -17 in total.
STAR FOOTBALLERS ON THE COURSE
Montgomerie Maxx Royal hosted a parade of stars with the participation of last year’s winner of the Turkish Airlines Open Victor Dubuisson, Martin Kaymer, Sergio Garcia, Henrik Stenson, Lee Westwood and many more golf stars and the Chairman of the Board of Koç Holding Mustafa Koç, Fenerbahçe’s footballer Dirk Kuyt, former football legends Dwight Yorke, Alan Shearer and David Platt.
The award ceremony presented a 1500, 1000, 500 Euros award respectively to the three winners, presented by the THY Antalya Regional Director Ömer Durna, Chairman of the Board of Koç Holding Mustafa Koç and European Tour COO Keith Waters. Turkish Airlines also rewarded members of winning teams with free plane tickets.
