It is the first time in professional golf that a play-off has been finished under floodlights and 28-year-old Englishman Tyrrell Hatton cruised to victory at the 2019 Turkish Airlines Open at Montgomerie Maxx Royal.
After all finished their round on 20-under 268, they were split up into two groups of three for the play-off. Hatton parred the fourth extra hole under the floodlights to emerge victorious after an incredible six-man play-off where he edged out Matthias Schwab after Erik van Rooyen, Kurt Kitayama, Victor Perez and Benjamin Hebert had earlier lost the hole.
The prize giving ceremony was held on the 18th hole green with the attendance of H.E Mr. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Turkey; Münir Karaloğlu, Governor of Antalya; Muhittin Böcek, Mayor of Antalya Metropolitan Municipality; Ahmet Ağaoğlu, President of the Turkish Golf Federation, and Cahit Şahin, General Manager of Montgomerie Maxx Royal.
H.E Mr. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Turkey presented his trophy to Tyrell Hatton.
