Masterful triumph of Dubuisson at Montgomerie Maxx Royal

23 year-old Victor Dubuisson earned his first professional victory on the European Tour at Montgomerie Maxx Royal Golf Course in Belek, Antalya. Frenchman scoring 67-65-63-69 in total 24 under par on the Turkish Airlines Open by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism with a world-class performance. Welshman Jamie Donaldson was the runner up with 22 under par while Englishman Justin Rose and World Number One Woods tied for the third spot with-20.

Perfect finish from the Frenchman Victor Dubuisson at Montgomerie Maxx Royal Golf course on the penultimate event of the European Tour Final Series third leg, Turkish Airlines Open by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism winning his first victory at the Tour after playing 72nd tournament so far.
Despite Dubuisson heading into the final round with a five-shot lead, there were many that believed he would fail under the pressure of having some opponents as Ian Poulter, Tiger Woods, Justin Rose and Henrik Stenson. But he dispelled beliefs with a great performance, 67-65-63-69 in total 24 under par that picking up the title and US$ 1, 166,600 prize on the back of a 69 on the final round. Welshman Jamie Donaldson played a perfect golf also signing a hole-in one on the 16th hole, finished with 22 under par after four rounds while Englishman Justin Rose and World Number One Woods tied for the third spot with-20.

Valuable win
This victory means a lot for the 23 year old. He now moves to 1,444,069 points in The Race to Dubai. This represents his highest single-season total. He could also move into the top 40 of the Official World Golf Ranking, from 108th. Should he stay within the top 50 by the final ranking of 2013 he would gain an invitation to the 2014 Masters Tournament also.
This victory beats his previous best European Tour performances of third in the 2013 Volvo China Open and 2013 Omega European Masters and tied third in the 2012 Ballantine’s Championship.
Dubuisson’s win is recorded as the 30th French victory in European Tour history and gave him a two year European Tour exemption until the end of 2015.
He also becomes the 12th first-time winner of the 2013 season while this is the first time he has led a European Tour event going into the final round.
