The 29 year old German Martin Kaymer competed in last year’s inaugural event, finishing in a share of 25th place at the Montgomerie Maxx Royal in Belek, Antalya. US Open Champion Kaymer is now hoping to end his season succesfully at Turkish Airlines Open by the Ministry of Youth and Sport.
Kaymer said: “After enjoying my experience in Turkey so much last year, I’ve been looking forward to this event. It’s a beautiful course and a world-class field.”
The two-time major winner has had another year to remember with a third successful Ryder Cup appearance for Europe to go with US Open Championship victory.
Kaymer will be up against Ryder Cup team-mates Sergio Garcia, Henrik Stenson, defending champion Victor Dubuisson, Jamie Donaldson, Thomas Bjorn, Stephen Gallacher, Lee Westwood and Ian Poulter in Turkey.
