The Team AVEA 1 represented by Ian Poulter, Hakkı Akil, Bülent Göktuna and Ancelo Donetti won the Turkish Airlines Open Pro-Am of the second day.
High profile European Tour event in Turkey, a tournament with a bumper prize fund of $7 million will take place at Montgomerie Maxx Royal Course in Belek, on November 7-10. Before the big event Turkish Airlines Open presented by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, two Pro-Am tournaments were held; second day finished with the victory of Team AVEA 1. The players Ian Poulter(Pro), Hakkı Akil, Bülent Göktuna and Ancelo Donetti made a score of -20 in total. The team also deserved the first place prize of 1,500 Euros award.24 teams consisting of one professional, three amateur players were on the course on a bright day in Belek. Turkey’s well-known amateur golfers such as Mustafa Koç, Serra Tokar, Fikret Öztürk, Ali Nuri Türker, Erhan Kamışlı, Fikret Ünlü, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Bülent Göktuna, Kıvanç Oktay, Sabri Yiğit, Kaya-Feraye Çilingiroğlu also played on the Montgomerie Maxx Royal Course.
Pablo Larrazabal(Pro), David Fike, Peter Barrett and John Lay representing the Team Genworth completed the tournament with -19 staying on the second spot. David Howell(Pro), Yin Haito, Anthony Lim and Darren Ware forming the Team THY 2 finished third with playing -19.
Mutlu Güner hit the ‘Longest Drive’ while Alihan Afşar won the Nearest To The Pin award.
Giants on Montgomerie Maxx Royal Course
World’s most famous players also Tiger Woods took to the tee at Montgomerie Maxx Royal Course in front of a huge media interest. Tiger played with Ahmet Ağaoğlu, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and Han Liang.
Major Champion Justin Rose of England, the winner of the Turkish Airlines World Golf Final 2012 played with Fikret Öztürk, Sabri Yiğit and Kaya Çilingiroğlu.
General Manager of Montgomerie Maxx Royal Golf Club Cahit Şahin feeling honoured to host the tournaments, welcomed all the guests at the ceremony and congratulated the participating players.
The designer of Montgomerie Maxx Royal Course, Colin Montgomeire was also on the course playing with Mustafa Koç, Vlademir Dunayev and Nurettin Katrancı..
The Turkish Airlines Open will consist of 78 players competing for a US$7 million prize fund, starts on November 7. The tournament will end on Sunday with the final round.
