Since 2016, the Maxx Royal Cup has been a global amateur tournament series held across Europe, the USA, and Asia. Sponsored by Maxx Royal Resorts and partnered with elite golf clubs, stages take place throughout the year, culminating in a grand final hosted at Montgomerie Maxx Royal every December.

Turkish Airlines Open

Montgomerie Maxx Royal has hosted golf legends such as Tiger Woods, Brooks Koepka, and Rory McIlroy. It debuted the Turkish Airlines Open in 2013 and hosted its 2014, 2015 and 2019 editions as part of the European Tour Final Series.

Turkish Airlines Open

Montgomerie Maxx Royal first hosted the Turkish Airlines Open in 2013, showcasing star-studded lineups on its championship course. Golf fans witnessed top professionals compete for glory, with Frenchman Victor Dubuisson winning in 2013 and 2015, Brooks Koepka of the USA claiming victory in 2014 and England’s Tyrrell Hatton sealing the win in 2019.

Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods made his first and only appearance at the Turkish Airlines Open in the 2013 edition. Arriving at Montgomerie Maxx Royal as the world’s No. 1 golfer and a 14-time major champion at the time, the legendary American captivated not just the golf world but the entire sports community. Woods delivered an impressive performance, finishing tied for third with a total score of 20-under-par 268.

Francesco Molinari

A competitor in the 2013, 2014, and 2019 Turkish Airlines Open at Montgomerie Maxx Royal, Francesco Molinari won his first major at the 2018 Open Championship, making history as the first Italian professional golfer to claim a major title.

Justin Rose

2013 US Open champion Justin Rose was part of the 78-man line-up at Montgomerie Maxx Royal. He tied with Tiger Woods for third place, finishing 20-under-par 268, and returned to the championship course in 2019.

Rory Mcilroy

Rory McIlroy, world No. 3 at the time, tied for sixth at 16-under at Montgomerie Maxx Royal. The Northern Irishman is a four-time major champion, winning the 2011 U.S. Open, 2012 PGA Championship, 2014 Open Championship, and 2014 PGA Championship.

Tyrrell Hatton

Tyrrell Hatton, who played in 2015, won the 2019 Turkish Airlines Open after a six-man play-off under floodlights, beating Matthias Schwab on the fourth extra hole.

Brooks Kopeka

Brooks Koepka won his first European Tour title at the Turkish Airlines Open, finishing 17-under 271. Before 2014, he had four Challenge Tour wins and later became a five-time major winner, claiming 2017, 2018 US Open and 2018, 2019 PGA Titles.

Victor Dubuisson

Victor Dubuisson won the Turkish Airlines Open in 2013 (-24, 264) and 2015 (-22, 266), his only European Tour titles. His victories at Montgomerie Maxx Royal earned him a place in the 2014 Ryder Cup.

Henrik Stenson

Henrik Stenson starred in 2013 the and 2014 Turkish Airlines Open, finishing tied seventh in 2013 and third in 2014. In 2016, he made history as the first Swedish male to win The Open, earning the title of Champion Golfer of the Year.
