The Turkish Airlines Open debuted in the European Tour's Final Series at Montgomerie Maxx Royal Championship Course in 2013. Designed by Colin Montgomerie, the course hosted the world’s top players in 2014, 2015, and 2019. As part of the esteemed Rolex Series, this European Tour Final Series event drew elite professionals, featuring the top 70 players from the Race to Dubai rankings, five sponsor invites, and three players from Türkiye.
Since 2016, the Maxx Royal Cup has been a global amateur tournament series held across Europe, the USA, and Asia. Sponsored by Maxx Royal Resorts and partnered with elite golf clubs, stages take place throughout the year, culminating in a grand final hosted at Montgomerie Maxx Royal every December.
Maxx Royal Cup welcomed 10,000+ guests from 53 nations, with champions from 8 countries, including Türkiye and England.
