Overseeding

Overseeding encourages fresh growth by planting cool-season grass seeds over warm-season grasses. This process is scheduled from September 25 to October 9, during which the championship course will be closed for play.

What is Overseeding on Golf Courses?

Overseeding is a turf management practice used on golf courses with warm-season grasses to maintain a lush green appearance and optimal playing conditions during the winter months. This process involves selecting the appropriate grass seed, preparing the soil and completing the seeding steps.

The Overseeding Process:

  • Seed Selection: Seeds are chosen based on the region’s climate characteristics and the specific requirements of golf play.
  • Soil Preparation: Watering is reduced to control the growth of existing grass. In rough areas, scraping methods are used, while vertical mowing is applied in other areas to ensure the seeds reach the soil.
  • Seeding and Maintenance: Seeds are sown evenly and brought into contact with the soil. Germination usually begins within four days, with the first mowing taking place on the eighth day.

This process ensures that golf courses preserve their pristine appearance and deliver exceptional playing conditions throughout the winter season.

Hybrid Engine Technology on Golf Courses

Montgomerie Maxx Royal pioneers environmental sustainability as the first golf course in Türkiye to implement hybrid engine technology. These advanced fairway mowers combine fossil fuels and electric power, reducing carbon emissions and achieving up to 30% fuel savings.

Equipped with a 48-volt alternator, the mower blades maintain a consistent speed, ensuring precise and uniform cutting quality throughout the day. The replacement of traditional hydraulic systems with electric wiring eliminates the risk of oil leaks, protecting the turf and enhancing its longevity.

Renowned for their quiet operation and environmentally friendly design, hybrid mowers redefine golf course maintenance, delivering exceptional performance with a sustainable focus. At Montgomerie Maxx Royal, we are dedicated to integrating innovative eco-friendly solutions, setting a new standard for greener, more efficient course management.

Sustainable Golf Course

At Montgomerie Maxx Royal, environmental sustainability is central to our operations, guiding the use of advanced technologies in maintenance. Hybrid technology and intelligent irrigation systems help minimise our environmental impact. Using weather data and soil moisture analysis, we identify areas needing water and apply only the necessary amount. Our regional irrigation approach conserves water while optimising turf health, ensuring a perfect balance between sustainability and performance.
